Loren and Julie Holdeman founded Lorie Design in 2022 with the goal of creating a more personal and detail-focused approach to outdoor transformations throughout the CSRA.

Before founding Lorie Design, Loren spent years working in the green industry beginning in 2002, gaining experience across a wide range of landscape projects and properties throughout the United States. That experience became the foundation for the company’s approach to professionally designed outdoor spaces, lighting, hardscapes, planting, and long-term landscape functionality.

Lorie Design was built to remain closely connected to each client and project while providing the experience needed to create outdoor environments that feel structured, visually balanced, and designed around the property itself.

When working with Lorie Design, clients work directly with Loren and Julie throughout the process — from property walkthroughs and conceptual drawings to project coordination and final installation. This hands-on approach helps ensure every project remains intentional, personalized, and professionally executed from beginning to end.

He was reliable, professional and really understood what we needed to restore both beauty and privacy to our yard. From the start, he truly listened to our ideas and helped us make them a reality. He was incredibly patient and answered all our questions. I was most impressed by how creatively Loren tackled the challenge of our sloped yard. He designed beautiful retaining walls that not only stabilized the hillside but also added a lot of visual appeal. The stairs leading up the hill are inviting, and the integrated lighting, irrigation, and even the cool color-changing lights are fantastic. His team was great – they were always on time, did a professional job, and cleaned up after themselves every day. We absolutely love our new backyard. It's not just a space - it's an extension of our home. I can't recommend Loren enough and we'll be working with him again!

From our original consultation to his sourcing of exactly the scale of trees we wanted to his meticulous installation, we were uniformly impressed with Loren's professionalism, focus on our priorities, and attention to detail. My husband devotes many hours weekly to keeping our property up to his standards, and Lorie Design carefully protected all surrounding turf and hardscape from damage, transplanted sod nearly undetectably, and cleaned up our street, sidewalk, and yard so thoroughly that no one could tell a major excavation and planting had even happened. These trees look like they've always been here -- which was our goal! We plan to use Lorie Design for future projects and enthusiastically recommend Loren.
